The Four “M”s
An infographic designed to promote an investment insights article that explores why Asia is on course to bring a wealth of investment opportunity in the 21st century.

I worked with Schroders’ Senior Investment Content Strategist in Emerging Markets, to create an infographic for their insights article – The four “M”s: why the 21st century belongs to Asia.
The goal was to create an engaging visual for use on social media that would grab the viewer’s attention, and encourage them to read the article published on Schroders’ website.
Based on data from the article, the infographic emphasised comparisons between Asia, the US and the EU. Highlighting key facts such as there being 800 millennials in Asia, and Asia being on track to account for nearly nine in ten of the next billion middle-class consumers.
It was clear that the infographic needed to be broken up into four sections to represent each “M”. The colour palette uses a dark background against the four lightest colour tones for maximum contrast, and to capture the bright excitement around this investment opportunity. One key colour is used for each category to help group and emphasise the data within.
We wanted to move away from heavy use of traditional bar graphs or pie charts, so simple illustrations were developed alongside typography to tell the story visually and to clearly present the key takeaways. The graphics are purposefully simple to ensure the data can be easily understood at a glance and puts emphasis on the numbers.
The static infographic developed into an animated video to be used on the Schroders website and social media. The content was storyboarded and broken down into smaller bite-sized frames, with an animation style that lends itself to the data building and illustrations developing, taking the viewer along the journey of this story.
Projected completed at Schroders in 2020. I was responsible for breaking down the article’s text into key statistics, designing the static infographic, creating illustrations, storyboarding the video, and animation. The full insights article and be viewed on Schroders’ website.
