Cazenove Capital is a long-established wealth management business of Schroders, with a focus on preserving and growing their clients’ wealth. Still largely owned by their founding family, their independence and expertise has, for more than 200 years, looked after the interests of entrepreneurs, professionals, families and charities from across the globe.
For their Client Christmas Party, they invited guests to take a step into the future and immerse themselves in a full-scale Mars home. Our brief was to design a bespoke invitation that was special, exciting, and reflected the theme of the exhibition.
We took inspiration from David Bowie’s ‘Life on Mars?’ song released in 1971. The epitome of glam-rock fashion, we referenced metallics, bright red and high contrast, which all brought a vibrant energy and visually connected to the planet Mars and space atmosphere. Our minimal typographic treatment allowed for clear communication of the event details, and complimented the bold graphic elements in a premium and contemporary way.
To capture the multi-sensory exhibition, we used a range of different print techniques, which also created a sense of discovery and resulted in a high-quality finish. The laser-cut detail represents the planet Mars and stars in the night sky, with a sneak peek of what’s inside. A subtle transparent foil sits below as planet Earth’s texture, providing perspective as the viewer looks up with wonder. The striking coloured paper stock inside captures the red planet, with gold foil emphasising the rocky and crater filled surface of Mars.
Project completed at Schroders in 2019, in collaboration with the Lead Integrated Designer.
